The Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID), an organization representing professional interior designers in the Gulf region, was able to achieve strong positive results and an overwhelming industry response for the country's first ever 'Festival of Interior Design (FoID), through a strategic PR agreement made with CommuniGate Middle East. Based on the agreement, CommuniGate Middle East was able to implement a key PR and Marketing initiative that helped raise awareness on the landmark event, while at the same time consolidating the UAE's position as an emerging global hub for design.
The festival was held from October 22, 2011 to
October 25, 2011 across Dubai and included a series of activities that specifically catered to a target audience of industry professionals, consumers and the academe. CommuniGate Middle East ran an aggressive PR and Media action plan that sought to give wide media coverage for 'FoID' events like its design competition, workshops, exhibits, shopping programs and a specially mounted pavilion at Dubai Index. As a result, the festival received a large number of positive news coverage. The wide response generated from the event has become a key backdrop for the preparations of the second edition of 'FoID' in 2012.
